Key Project Components
Vision Workshop
Community leaders, representing age and gender diversity, will be selected to mobilise the community to capturre a collective vision and develop an action plan. This will look at infrastructure that can utilise sustainable technology and determine businesses that the community would like to run to finance their future.
Business Feasibility and Capacity Building
The feasibility of the proposed businesses will be assessed, along with their technology and capital requirements. Workshops and consultations will be made available for the community to improve their business management skills.
Micro-financing
Through a formally established Coperative/Village Association structure, lending circles will be formed to loan out capital for community enterprises. This will be a community run enterprise with a management team that is recruited by the project management team.
This will be extended towards loans for household level technology such as solar lanterns, renewable energy stoves and irrigation systems.
Technology Deployment
Business level and household level technology will be deployed in accordance with the community's requests and financial capacity.
Reinvestment
The recovered principal investment will be reinvested into another community selected by the project management team.
